ABOUT SMK BATU LINTANG

                   SMK Batu Lintang located in the city of Kuching. Two school sessions has 134 academic staff and 20 support staff. The number of students in 2010 amounted to 1,757 people and in 2011 amounted to 1,613 persons. Since its inception in 1977, SMK Batu Lintang continues to grow from year to year in an effort towards realizing the vision. To become an excellent school by 2010. In relation to the management of the school has been planning and implementing programs to improve academic, co-curricular and personal development throughout the year. In 2007 the percentage of passing students PMR increased to 2.12% from 2.14% in 2006, 46 students managed to get an A in all subjects. Academic programs that have contributed to the improved performance in terms of quality and quantity is diamond project (s outstanding students), Diamond Project (simple student group) and Permata Project (galus student groups). SMK Batu Lintang excellence evident in co-curriculum, including Paralympic sports, science innovation projects, choir, drama, dance, bowling, swimming, speech and so on. Some students from SMK Batu Lintang has represented Malaysia to scientific innovation competitions at the international level. Such as:

 

  • Malaysia's representative to Taiwan International Science Fair in Taipei in February 2004.

  • Representative of Malaysia to the 55th Intenational Science and Engineering Fair in Portland, USA 9 - May 15, 2005.

  • Representative of Malaysia to the 4th SEAMEO Search For Young Scientist Congress 2004 in Penang.

  • Larry Elle's sister Yanti ak won Overall Most Promising Young Scientist Award.

  • Malaysia's representative to the Asia-Europe Scientist of Tomorrow Exhibition in Genoa, Italy pda October 26 to November 3, 2004.

  • Larry's brother and sister Elle ak Yanti Kuok Albert Tan Liang won one of the Top Three Grand Awards in addition to Italy and China.

  • Representative of Malaysia to the 56th International Science and Engineering Fair in Arizona, USA 8 - May 14, 2005. Sister Esther Chiong finished to 3 Grand Prize Award (Individual Category Chemicals).

  • In 2006, students have represented Malaysia to the 57th International Science and Engineering Fair held in Indianapolis. 58th Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2007 in New Mexico, USA.

 

 

 

In the Paralympic Games , excellence visually impaired students from SMK Batu Lintang very prominent in the international arena

 

  • Malaysia 's representative to the 1st FESPIC Youth in Hong Kong on December 9, 2003 and managed to collect 10 gold , 12 silver and 8 bronze .

  • Representative of Malaysia to the 1st Asian Swimming Championship Kuala Lumpur and get two gold and one silver .

  • Representative of Malaysia to the Sea Games in Manila in December 2005.

  • Brother pad General Ak Lieh won the gold medal and broke the record in the 100 meters and bronze medal in the 40 meters .

  • In 2007 to Brazil . In swimming ,

  1. Sister Nuria Amira has represented the state and nation in some swimming events . among them : Arafura Games in Darwin ( 13 - 22.05.2005 ) and get 1 gold and 1 silver and 3 bronze .

  2. 6th ASEAN School Swimming Open Under 18 Girls in Suphanburi Thailand and got fifth place.

  3. Brunei SEA Age Group Meet at 3 - June 5, 2005 .

  4. Physical selected Haigeng Training Base Kunming , Yunan Province have 6 - August 13, 2005 .

 

 

                    In 2005 the choir SMK Batu Lintang also took the first steps to the top of international choir competitions in Xiamen, China in July 2006. (4th World Choir Olympics) Schools must assume personal development along with academic excellence and extra-curricular in order to produce individuals who can make positive contributions to society. Part HEM and Curriculum Division organized a camp for students Self serious discipline problems and Spread The Love Project to create student awareness of their social responsibility. In 2005 the school community project themed Spread The Love is performed by 21 students from SMK Batu Lintang has won the Grand Prize Award at the end of the competition, organized by Celcom Malaysia. Guidance and Counselling Unit has developed various activities under the Human Development Program for the entire year. The highlight successes in 2004 was when SMK Batu Lintang won awards Public Bank Smart School as the academic and co-curricular excellence. In 2005, SMK Batu Lintang won the prestigious award of Hope National School State level for the category of City High School. All this continued success achieved by SMK Batu Lintang encourage citizens to continue to improve performance in all areas. Improvements to school programs (academic, co-curricular and human development) and office management are made on an ongoing basis. In addition, efforts to document all projects and programs have facilitated the school duties efficiently and systematically
